WELCOME ...

Welcome to our home site.  The site is currently dormant but we might expand it in due course.  Plans include adding details about Hatherton residents in the 19th century and other historical information about the parish.

Kiln CottageThe photograph at the top shows the house in about 1940 when the low building in the foreground was a disused malt kiln, hence the name.  On the right is a recent picture.

Hatherton is a hamlet which lies within the parish of Wybunbury in south Cheshire.  The hamlet was listed under Nantwich Hundred in the Domesday book as Hareton when Ulfketel held it.  The name means "farmstead where heather grows".
